Christian Fischbacher lightweight Wild Silk Quilt Bellinzona

Tussah silk is extracted from the cocoon of the oak silk caterpillar. The oak silk caterpillar originally comes from Japan, but is also bred in Europe. The caterpillars spin their cocoons on the trees, which are usually light brown. With all wild silks, the extraction process only begins when the animals have finished their pupal stage and have hatched from their cocoons as butterflies.
